Dear resident,
MTV and Elisa are currently negotiating a distribution agreement for MTV’s channels. Negotiations are ongoing, and for the time being
channels are visible as normal. If an agreement is not reached by the deadline (12.05.2026 at 23:59), there may be an interruption in the live broadcasts of MTV’s channels (MTV3, MTV Sub and MTV Ava) on Elisa’s cable TV network and the Elisa Viihde service.
Alternative offered by Elisa to residents
Elisa wants to ensure that residents have an alternative way to watch MTV content in the event of possible
exceptional circumstances. To this end, Elisa is offering the Elisa Viihde app to residents free of charge for 1 month (the benefit can be ordered now), should an interruption occur in the live broadcasts of MTV channels. The benefit applies to new Elisa Viihde customers.
With the Elisa Viihde app:
• MTV channel programmes can be watched as recordings and can be viewed while recording is in progress (with a delay of approx. 3 min)
• Viewing is possible on a smart TV, mobile device or tablet
• Setting up the service is easy and does not require separate cabling
What to do?
If a possible interruption occurs:
1. Order a free 1-month trial at https://elisaviihde.fi/elisaviihdemini-ktv; the trial period will end
automatically after the free month.
2. The free trial period is activated under the campaign terms
3. Download the Elisa Viihde app from the app store; it is also available directly for smart TVs
Elisa is actively seeking a solution through negotiations to avoid an interruption or to keep it as
short as possible. We will provide updates on the progress of the situation as necessary.
